National Trust - Glendurgan Garden — Attraction in Mawnan

One of the most beautiful gardens we have ever seen, the variety of plants and the dynamic of the place are just out of this world. The beach was a pleasant surprise although not very well maintained (one toilet and shocking) and the sewage went straight into the sea where children were playing). Also dog owners are still welcome in a frosty manner and subjected to the inquisition whilst there. We were *greeted * by a very over zealous volunteer who kept us 10 mins to explain all the things WE WERE NOT ALLOWED to do instead of offering us a map and more info about GG as this was our first ever visit. Also whoever decided that dog must be on short fixed lead at all times clearly never owned one as due to the unevenness of the ground / stairs / multiple tricky paths this is completely unsafe at times. All in all the beauty of the place surpassed all the shortages but if you want a truly spectacular, Stressless visit and be treated like a non criminal simply because you own a dog please do yourself a favour a go visit the stunning Trebah...

Lovely garden to visit. Car park is payable but free for National Trust members. Toilets are available and were very clean. There is a café but I didn't purchase anything so can't comment. A further admission charge to the gardens but again NT members are free. I noticed they had walking poles available for anybody who wished to use them. It's a pleasant walk around the gardens and there are different routes available (one being step free). We walked up to the maze viewing platform and had a lovely view so definitely worth a look if you can. We then walked down and out of the back gate, past the old school house and to a lovely beach. Just a little walk further up the road past the school and you will come to another beach. Both are worth a visit in my opinion. The weather was nice when we visited and people were paddling, swimming and using paddle boards and inflatable canoes/kayaks. Make sure you have a go in the maze, it's fun...

Smiles all round from the lovely team guiding you to a parking space. Greeted with a quiz for the children and directions to the main reception area. Once again it is another National Trust garden that delivers. It is a lovely place to meander through, relaxing in the wonderful garden. Not something to hurry.

The maze is also a great spark of interest for pretty much everyone. Try the life hack my son suggests, keeping to the left at all times, unless you are forced to deviate. Anyway, it worked for me.

At some point you will reach the beach which is very pleasant for a picnic lunch. There are plenty of rock pools to explore.

The gardens are a circular walk returning to the beginning. At which point you could have a cup of tea and cake at the cafe. All in all a splendid finale to a horticultural feast...
