Giving this lovely place 3 stars cannot really describe what is there, but in some ways the fact that there is not very much there is its attraction! The small site is set aside to describe the stages of settlement in this extraordinary area that has been the seat of Kings, the nursery of Christianity in Britain and a very good place to live in that odd time where Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman come and go and ordinary people just take care of their own hearth and home, their neighbours and extended family...
