(I have included a question at the end of my comment if anyone knows what it is please can you reply to me).

Looks like a beautiful place to visit I just seen it in an article online hopefully it doesn't lose it's beauty once people learn about it, sometimes keeping places secret is better for the environment I would love to visit with my family some day. I just hope anyone visiting treats it with respect & helps to keep it naturally beautiful instead of trying to ruin magical places by leaving rubbish or not cleaning up after their dog ect.

I was also wondering if anyone could tell me what this smoke is on the hill I seen this picture on Google Maps taken by a talented man who enjoys reviewing places but there is no description & I don't see a Factory or fire so I was just curious if anyone knew what...

We visited on a rather gloomy day and the tide happened to be out as well, so perhaps we didn't get to see Haverigg at it's best, but the beach itself starts out as shingly and stretches out to a wide expanse of sandy beach. Unfortunately we found the parts of the beach a bit too boggy for our footwear so chose not to go on to the more sandy parts. There is a car park which appears to be free but I'm not sure how busy it gets during peak times as it's not very big. There are toilets too and a little cafe opposite the car park but we tried neither so I cannot comment on either of those. Haverigg itself looks like a fairly okish seaside place, with a better mobile signal than some other places in the Western Lake District. It's nice for a gentle afternoon stroll if you're at a loss for...

Haverigg itself isn't the most picturesque place (although some of the residents have made a real effort to make their properties look cheerful and colourful), and the beach was covered in green/blue algae. The whole area had an atmosphere of neglect, and there was an abandoned boat with graffiti on that didn't help, coupled with the fact that it was a gloomy day. We found a small carpark with a cafe and toilets nearby (can't comment on these as we didn't use them), as well as a play park for small kids. I'd imagine it looks a whole lot better on a sunny day and when the algae is gone, but we're not in a...
