My first negative review in my 58 years alive. From ordering food (with drinks at the bar) we waited an hour and 10 minutes before asking if the portion of chips, halloumi fries and a wrap would be much longer. The 'food' did arrive shortly thereafter, but ranged from mediocre to absolutely dreadful. The cheesy chips resembled a bowl of mash and took over 75 minutes to prepare. No apology. Won't be revisiting. The walk around the seawall was very pleasant however.

Bar food, pizzas, snacks, wines and spirits. We enjoyed a few beers in the sunshine while watching the fun on the lake. Had some cheesy chips but didn't stop for food. . Great location, nice bar with Picknick tables outside. Ran out of ice. Could do with more staff.

Food and drinks were quick and tasty, presented nicely. Entertaining to watch the wakeboarding and water assault course while on the deck. Dog friendly and a welcome break after walking to the Hodbarrow Lighthouse. Recommend the salt and pepper chips!

I have given one star because I couldn't do any less! I went today with my disabled father, who uses an electric wheelchair, my husband and I and also a friend with a 1 year old baby, which required a pushchair. It was raining very heavily so we waited in the car until their advertised opening time of 12 midday for the place to open for lunch. Just after that I went to check if the doors were open and found the door at the top of the rampway was locked so I went around to the front of the cafe to the front door. Once inside I asked if they could open the rampway door, which they did, but noticed a step of around 4 inches, this would be impossible to get a wheelchair over and there was also inadequate room at the top of the ramp to manoeuvre a wheelchair or pushchair into position if that door could have been used. It was suggested that I should use the main entrance which had a double door. Unfortunately, the second door could not be opened because 'someone ' had broken the catch and it wouldn't open.It was then suggested that the side door could be used, but again this wasn't possible because 'someone ' had broken the handle and the door had to be wedged shut! I was told that some people in wheelchairs could manage to get through the single main door, but as it was torrential rain outside I decided I didn't want to risk my father getting soaked whilst trying to gain entrance. We also had a baby in a pushchair, which, I feel would have been another impossibility to get through the narrow single door. I told the staff member that we would go elsewhere for our lunch. I had checked online to see if The Ski Bar was wheelchair friendly as it had been recommended as a nice place to eat, but unfortunately as it isn't wheelchair or pushchair friendly we didn't get a...

Visited several times during half term week, we were using the wakeboarding and inflatables facilities next door, this is the only place to get a drink/food.

Very slow table service during the day even when they were quiet, missed drinks, snacks from several orders, all rectified but only after long waits.

We ate here one evening, the food quality was great, portion sizes huge, but again missed a main off the order even after us checking. Very very slow service, waited 30 minutes to place a drinks order, then 20 minutes for them to arrive is just too long. We'd normally have been on a 3rd round by then spending our cash in their bar had they been able to serve us. This could be great place, they just need to fine tune their processes, seemed to be enough staff about just the system was failing them.

Personally, the loud music from noon everyday on the terrace when sat in such a beautiful location is not needed. At night turn it up and party but by day we want to chill, unwind and just enjoy...

Visited here for lunch on Christmas eve. First impressions outside was that it looks like a wood cabin. Walked in and happy to see this bar is dog friendly always a plus in our books. Greated upon arrival by a young chap. We found a nice table by the window the inside is wooden but no log fire. Appears to be abit of a party/music venue.

Staff were friendly, pleasant and chatty greated our dogs which was nice.

Cleanlyness sadly gets a 3/5 due to dirty table legs sticky table and cobwebs.

Toilet facilities were good but broken door locks which wasnt a good sign.

Food and drinks was alright i was happy with my meal my other half wasnt overly impressed but overall it was acceptable.

Venue appeares to be busy due to a kids party day before we arrived when we walked past an a big party due in Christmas eve so i believe this business will do well but hope these all comments can be taken with a good heart. Good location and good Christmas decs.

Plenty of...
