A relatively small site but the animals are well looked after and there are frequent staff presentations which keep you interested. Jordan gave all the presentations during our visit and he is very friendly, knowledgeable and obviously cares very deeply for the animals at the facility. There are 4 bird enclosures, 1 reptile/insect/arachnid enclosure, 1 meerkat enclosure and numerous enclosures for the various apes, monkeys and lemurs. They are all beautiful and wonderful to watch and so the centre is well worth a visit and to support all the excellent work they do, caring for their welfare. There are a couple of play areas with climbing frames and play equipment for little ones and a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. There is one designated smoking area. As a tourist site there is some work to do as the toilets (male & female) had a powerful ammonia stench, which was extremely unpleasant. The service at the cafe was really poor. Even though the queue was short (3) it was 20 minutes to get a couple of coffees. The cafe staff did not seem to have any sense of urgency to serve the customers. We did not order any food, as we are only on the island for 7 days. A family ticket (2A+2C) is £44 but with gift aid is £48.40. You receive a receipt when you enter if you want to return in 7 days. You sign the reciept and this permits you to return once in the...

Lovely place. Really reasonable entry fee, with free 7 day return. Great talks from the keepers are informative. Given a map upon arrival with all information regarding enclosure locations and the times of the talks the keepers do. Nice food, a little pricey. Indoor and outdoor seating. Has a play area for little children outside. There is a larger play area for other children located elsewhere. Small gift shop, reasonably priced, with some great gift ideas and keepsakes. Most enclosures were labeled with information plaques which were interesting and well laid out. Gave information on the species as well as the individuals themselves (names, DOB, personalities etc). The information was tailored right for both adult and child reading, with pictures and fun comparisons for sizes (e.g. the size of a chicken, weight of a bowling ball) as well as the scientific information (actual measurements/spans, full name). There is also an app you can download. Scan barcodes laid out around the park to watch and read interactive things related to the animals. This includes their sounds/calls etc. Push chair and wheel chair friendly with accessible parking and paved paths...

My wife Margaret and I spent two excellent, interesting days visiting the Monkey Haven primate rescue centre on the Isle of Wight. This is an extremely worthwhile organisation that re-homes and cares for injured owls and primates and victims of mans cruelty to caged and pertorming creatures. I accidentally booked and paid twice for our initial visit, but would like to compliment Wendy in the cashier's office for securing an almost instant refund of the overpayment. We also took advantage of the offer of a free second visit. Maddy in the restaurant was really helpful and she looked after us with a smile. We found Jordan's talk on the monkeys extremely informative and Ginnell gave an excellent description of the lives of barn owls. We enjoyed the Meerkat mayhem feeding experience and the information about these fascinating creatures was excellent. Finally all thanks and congratulations should be extended to the founders of this really interesting and necessary organisation. The keepers and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall this is a wonderful worthwhile place to visit for both adults and children on a visit to the...

Highly recommend visiting! As big monkey fans, we were already biased going into the experience, but with the combination of monkeys, owls, and reptiles, I think this place had something for most animal lovers. It was a nice amount to see and do, feeling like a solid half a day out. It was nice to feel like we saw the things we wanted to see. All of the keepers and people working there were knowledgeable and clearly interested in what they were doing, which is lovely to see. The centre boasted two play areas! An area for older children had some exciting slides and was surrounded by lots of the noisy, but fun, gibbon's. Whereas for toddlers, there was an area near the entrance, just outside the café, where one could sit with a coffee. It's one of the most well thought out seating areas I've seen for toddlers and their parents, including some soft play areas we've visited!
