Beautiful place. It is still occupied by a family line for hundreds of years. They leave the gate open with a sign reading, please do not go past the entrance. But you are welcome to enjoy and take pictures from the gate entrance. If you are in the area do stop and take a picture or two. There are restaurants and pubs near by.

What a beautiful castle in Killyleagh. My granddaughter was amazed at it asking "was the princess in the castle today". What a little girl's dream come true to see a real castle. It has been well preserved & maintained by the Hamilton family. A big assert to the small local village. Well worth a visit to the area.

An unexpected sight in the centre of a small village, its worth a stop to have a look. The gardens in front on the entrance is beautifully laid out. The castle is privately owned and not open to the public, but the owners very kindly leave the gates open so passers-by can take a look from the entrance way.
