Part of a nice, leisurely walk along Moss valley for a couple of hours and not too busy. Pathways are very good and a couple of crossings over The Moss are nice and safe. Plenty of squirrels in the woodland and fields plus a variety of wild birds particularly around the area of Seldom Seen Engine House.

Nice dog walk along the old lane with all the autumn colours and an interesting place to look around, didn’t see no ghosts though.

It's a blink and you'll miss it kind of place since it's just off of woodland path (although one direction is easier than the other as the sign sits at a bit of an angle). If you didn't know it was there you might walk right past as it's quite overgrown. Sadly it's blocked up so you can't go inside, although it may not be that safe to do so, so it was probably for insurance purposes. It's definitely worth a quick visit if you're in the area and have a bit of time to spare. Very peaceful location in the middle of woodland. It's interesting to see how the earth is...

I love this part of Derbyshire as it is close to home. There isn’t a lot to see at the Engine house to be honest but the area is steeped in history from the old workings to the WW II bunker where they would attempt to lure German bombers to drop their bombs away from Sheffield. The river is great for dogs and children alike and there are some good paths along both sides for those more adventurous. A nice historical day out and fun for the kids and furry...
