A unique experience perfect for Alpaca lovers (or even for converting alpaca sceptics!)
I came here (14/05/2025) with my family for my mother-in-laws 60th birthday. We'd booked the cream tea with Alpacas.
First impressions were very good. There is eniugh parking for a few cars, it's well signposted which way to go, and the lady (Annie) was waiting for us ready to guide us up to the table.
The table was set up near the alpaca paddock under some trees. There was tea, coffee, hot fresh scones, jam and cream. The table had a table-cloth, napkins, cutlery, etc. We were introduced to the Alpacas and the birthday girl was chosen to help herd the Alpacas into the section nearest to us.
Annie then gave us all some carrots so we could feed them, and then more-or-less left us to it. We took many pictures, did lots of feeding, washed our hands and then had the cream tea.
The food was all lovely, and afterwards we had some more time with the Alpacas. All-in-all it was a wonderfully quirky experience and I'm sure one day we'll be back! Annie was friendly and helpful and did...
Read moreWe got there and the alpacas we were walking with were already separated. It was funny choosing an alpaca, they all have wonderful names and a variety of beautifully coloured coats! Catching each alpaca is easier than you might expect. The walking route was beautiful and very scenic, through fields, forest areas and with great views over the lake. The walk itself really lets you get to know the alpacas individually and how they act in a herd. We came back for a big pot of tea and to feed all the alpacas some carrots, which is a lovely experience on its own. We also got the opportunity to see Annie's spinning wheel, some wool straight off the alpaca and some of the products she had made, including really soft scarfs and socks! Annie was very knowledgeable about the alpacas, their wool and how to dye and make the products, and she was happy to talk us through anything we asked about. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, a morning very well spent and I would love to...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful experience at Burnt Fen Alpaca Walk last week! From the moment we arrived, Annie, the owner, made us feel welcome and excited about our adventure. She had a fantastic way of introducing the children to alpaca handling, ensuring they felt comfortable and engaged right from the start.
The walk itself lasted about 1.5 hours, and it was a delightful blend of learning and fun. Annie shared fascinating stories about the alpacas and their care, making it enjoyable for the adults as well. We also had the pleasure of meeting "Goose," a charming garden goose who roamed freely, along with two adorable cats that added to the delightful atmosphere.
One of the highlights was when the kids got to feed the alpacas rewarding carrots! They absolutely loved the experience and couldn’t stop talking about it afterward.
Overall, Burnt Fen Alpaca Walk is a perfect family outing that combines education, interaction, and a lot of smiles. We can’t wait to...
