Mundesley Beach is a charming coastal gem on the Norfolk coast, known for its picturesque scenery and family-friendly atmosphere. This Blue Flag-awarded beach offers clean, golden sands that stretch along a gently sloping shoreline, making it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and sandcastle building. The beach is sheltered by low cliffs, adding to its scenic beauty and providing a sense of seclusion while still being easily accessible.

One of the beach's standout features is the traditional wooden groynes that break up the sand, creating a series of smaller, intimate beach areas. The tide reveals a wide expanse of sand, ideal for beach games and leisurely walks. Mundesley’s shallow waters make it a safe spot for children to paddle and play, while the vibrant beach huts add a splash of color to the landscape.

The village of Mundesley, located just behind the beach, is a quaint and welcoming community with local shops, cafés, and pubs, offering plenty of options for refreshments and meals. The nearby coastal path provides stunning views and connects to other coastal towns, making Mundesley a great base for exploring the Norfolk coastline. With its combination of natural beauty and family-friendly amenities, Mundesley Beach is a delightful destination for a day...

A really lovely spot for a walk and with a couple of cafes just off the beach, somewhere for a drink or light meal after (or before) your exertions. The beach is generally sandy, intermingled with loose stones and rocks but nothing too much. A concrete path, acts as protection for a line of beach huts and various buildings just off the beach. Good access from a relatively steep path, leads down from the top car park onto the concrete path, this having no steps so could be used for people with wheelchairs. Dogs are allowed on the beach but be aware that certain restrictions apply at different times of the year. These times and tide information are clearly posted at the top of the cliffs before embarking on your walk. Good walking and worth at least a stop to stretch you and, maybe,...

50+ years ago came here with my parents and had sandwiches on the beach but fixed in my memory as we had to crunch down over a one-off plague of ladybirds! Very pretty village and great beach but would not drive here on a hot summer's day as I expect it would be horribly congested and a parking nightmare. Staying in a holiday home with parking and it would be a fabulous relaxing location. A few too many unfriendly 'private roads' and "don't come through here signs" by the beach and I understand how horrible it could get for those residents in high season but surely that was obvious at the time of purchase? Could do with thinning out on sea front side of road. Excellent clean public toilets and coast road has recently been given a thick layer of asphalt so looking...

The start of many a wander. Check the tide times to arrive not long before low tide, and I can wander a mile down the beach to Bacton, then back to Mundesley, and on to Overstrand with no danger of getting wet. This is some of the best beach in the UK. Shallow yellow sands, almost entirely empty except at Mundesley and Trimingham, and often, it’s just you and the birds. Mundesley itself has a public toilet near the beach, a few nice little local shops, and the beach is a little busy at the village, but wander 5 mins in any direction, and you have a bit of sand almost entirely to yourself Pic was taken heading towards Cromer

Went for a nice walk with the dogs on the beach. As it was November there was hardly anyone else around so had pretty much the beach to ourselves with the exception of a few other dog walkers. Parked in car park, signposted as we got to the beach, with an overflow car park available too. Went to use the public toilet, but of course it was shut, as people don’t need to go to the toilet between November and Easter! Must be a mundesley thing as they were open at cart gap car park when we went there! Imagine it gets busy in the summer.
