It has amusements, cafes and amenities just set back from the beach, but not enough to make it into a really touristy beach destination which I think is a major attraction for those of you wanting a halfway house between complete tranquillity and lots of hustle and bustle.
Awarded the Blue Flag status for several years, this is definitely the perfect family friendly beach.
The car parking here is very easy and a very short walking distance to the beach, so no worries about where you’re going to park.
On the way to the beach, you’ll pass cafes, pubs and amusements to while away your time, and always a relief if you have small children in tow or don’t want the hassle of packing a picnic. Just nip over the ramp and grab a bite to eat and drink.

Read moreThis is a lovely stretch of beach. There are little 'bays' to swim in and some rocks to wonder around or sit on. (Definitely google it for pictures as I forgot to take any). Car parking is around £1.50 per hour or £7.50 for the day. There is a shop selling buggy boards, spades etc and a number of cafes within 100 metres from the first car park. Be ready for a walk up the incline and down the slope to get to the beach. This is concrete, so it's easy going, but may be difficult for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs or people with walking difficulties.
