If you want a flat route to walk Minnowburn and the Lagan Towpath are excellent. If you would like a route that is a little more strenuous, then the walk to the Rose Garden Garden and the high path above the Edenderry Rd can be accessed from Minnowburn. The walks around Minnowburn can be added to those along the Lagan, Barnets Park and Belvoir to give a walk of approximately 6 miles.

Over the weekend the Minnowburn car park gets very busy and its difficult to find a parking space. This is partly caused by the fact that at the weekend there is a Pizza/Coffee van parked in the car park. This van is quite expensive and the coffee shops at Malone House and The Lock Keepers give a greater choice, and are less than 1/2 ...

Great place for walking, running and picnics all year round. Many walking trails for people of all abilities ( limited wheelchair + pram access to some areas) alongside the river or through wooded areas. Great area for mushrooms and wild fruit + berries. Small jetty located right beside car park for launching of small watercraft ( kayaks, canoes, paddleboards etc.) with larger jetty located downstream at shaws bridge. Good few points for fishing. Coffee van at car park on most days serving hot & cold drinks and traybakes. Nice stop if cycling down towpath (note* paths can be narrow at areas). No bins on site ( nearest at shaws bridge) but mostly...

We did a long loop walk from the giants ring and happened upon these beautiful gardens. The planting and range us excellent and the position offers a good viewpoint so well worth a visit. If doing the loop walk including the giants ring I'd allocate about two hours at least depending on your fitness, although it's mostly flat terrain. The grounds can become a little watery so wear appropriate footwear! Best visited on a bright sunny day but generally great as peaceful always and never busy on the three...

Great spot for walking and water sports. Start here and go to The Giant’s Ring and along the River Lagan or head in the opposite direction towards the Lock Keeper’s Cottage and the cafe there. Apparently it’s a great spot for bluebells too but I’ve only seen a few patches rather than an expected carpet of them.

Love it my dad was a volunteer for 15 yrs the bench at terrace hill garden is where we spread dad's ashes and there is a bench named after him and a tree planted too. The view is amazing and my dad loved being there with his wee work family the guys are amazing and do a brilliant job 😊
