This is a small park area just outside Oldham town centre. The main attraction is the river that flows into the reservoir. There are a few different routes around the park some easier than others although most aren't very taxing either way. For a bit of an extra challenge while walking you can off the be beaten path and although this isn't going to present too difficult a walk you can get a bit extra out of this.
There is a really easily accessable car park that leads on to the main route around the park, and although it might not be the easiest, it is possible to get around this path with a pram or even a wheelchair.
The other benefit of going to strinesdale is the small ice-cream and waffle shop at the end of the raid leading in. You can get a coffee here to take out or sit in and order some food.
The size of the park isn't going to overwhelm anyone and unless your local you're not likely to make many return visits.

One of the memorial forests is completely unkempt which is the responsibility of Life for a Life. Now 2/3 horses have been put in an area which is a public right of way. You take your life in your own hands if you go through that field now as the chestnut horse is very unpredictable and will gallop straight at you if it’s feeling that way out. An accident waiting to happen. I’ve walked that area for years and never have horses been in that field. No signage, nothing suggests it’s no longer a right of way. When it rains the paths that are clear are mud baths. What a shame to allow this place to get into...
Read moreAbsolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend...
