Hopwood Park — Attraction in Rochdale

Our local park is a popular spot for our family, especially when the weather is good. It's a lovely place to take our dog for a walk and enjoy the outdoors. However, one thing to be cautious about is that after rain, some areas of the park can turn into mud baths, so proper footwear is a must.

The park does offer a range of kid-friendly activities, including swings, a slide, and a zip line. While these play structures are enjoyable for children, it's clear that they are showing their age and could use some maintenance and upgrades.

But what truly enhances the park experience is the delightful little cafe tucked away in a corner. It's a charming spot to grab a coffee and a slice of cake, especially on those perfect weather days. The option for ice cream is a definite bonus, adding to the overall appeal.

Despite the aging play equipment and occasional muddy patches, our local park remains a pleasant destination for some outdoor fun. It provides a peaceful environment for dog walks and offers enough activities to keep kids entertained. With a little attention to maintenance, it could become an even more enjoyable community space. Excellent, friendly a lovely place to sit and enjoy the tranquillity of the park whilst the children play happily. You can see all over the park from the refreshment area, so the children are always in view. Ice creams, drinks, hot dogs and crisps available, ideal after school treats that can be consumed at one of the lovely parosel shaded tables. Plenty of outdoor activities for the children, swings, slides, roundabout, zip wire, tennis courts ect. There are outdoor games and books to read, for those wishing to unwind. The refreshment area sits along side a safer separate off road parking area. For a more quieter retreat, there is another small cafe near the bowling green away from the playing area. Cracking little park for the kids, nice field area and bike/skateboard track. Just a shame there's a group of very judgemental mums staring and seemed to be whispering when theres special need kids playing. In advance we do not apologise for our kids acting differently. There's nothing wrong with them, there's clearing something wrong with you
