First visit to Bewl water today. Been on my bucket list for a few years now & I had a days holiday so thought let's go. Weather was blustery but forecast was dry so jumped in the car with my wife and drove to the car park. Arrived at 10.00. Route & carpark were well signposted. Attendant was helpful & knowledgeable. He laughed when I said we wanted to walk around the lake. He gave us a map & off we went. We are regular walkers & our pace is usually 3mph. The map says to allow 6hrs to complete the 13 miles. We did it in just over 4 hours. Bewl water is a stunning location but comparitively quiet as the COVID lockdown is still in place. There are lots of activities still suspended which is a shame. When fully open it offers something for everyone. Carpark is a fiver all day. We set off anticlockwise around the lake to get the hilly bits & lanes out of the way early. There are approximately 3.5 miles of lanes where you can't see the lake at all. To be truthful you probably can't see the lake for 75% of the route because of the trees. The paths vary from stone paths to mud tracks ideal for off road cyclists. In fact this route is perfect for off road cycling judging by the numbers passing us. In fairness it is a lovely walk, not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs unfortunately. I didn't see the water taxi at all. Possibly suspended? This must be a godsend when operational as you can get off/on & see all the lake with ease assuming you have young children who don't like walking. Bewl water is well worth a visit even if you just stay near the carpark areas & watch the activities with a cuppa. It's an incredible man made feature offering a safe relaxing...

I visit Bewl Water for camping and fishing every year so yes I do love the place, however I think it is time to up your game at Bewl. Calling your phone is nightmare - 1 out of 20 might be answered so you can’t address any urgent matters when you're still at home. (I lost my chance for 20% discount for camping despite promise to rectify this later - never happened) SHOWER ROOMS and toilets - no change for years and it is now so disgusting to be there. Taking a shower is a big challenge. In high season place should be cleaned much more often. It is time to renovate it as well; all toilet seats broken. Access to freezer for your icepacks. I was really not comfortable to trouble the busy staff to be coming and opening small shed for me to put the icepacks and the. To take them back. There was a big freezer before in shower building with 24hrs access which was much better. On my first visit in May this year there was no freezer at all and I was told to give the icepacks to the caff staff which I did. When I picked them in the evening they were warm and not frozen - they did not have space in freezers so did not put them in.

Overall staff very nice, strictly following the rules. Even 5min early fishing start was not permitted :( I mean come on …. I will be visiting next year 100% but hope there will be...

Our first & Last visit to Bewl Water Car Parking Payment method. We were advised at the Customer Service desk to use download Ring2Go as there are no pay & display machines only online payment. We downloaded the Ring2Go App and Selected used Auto Payment vehicle recognition. 2 weeks later we have received a Parking Fine of £100.00 or £60.00 early payment for non payment of Parking. We explained appealed this by email to the Bewl Water and First Parking who are insistent that the fine should be levied although we have offered to pay the Parking for the duration of our visit again. No account for error that the Parking charge was not recognised by First Parking via our Ring2go App. Although we spent £220.00 on our 1st visit to Bewl Water nobody has answered our emails or telephone calls to explain the problem.

The First Parking who control monitor Parking at Bewl Water are SHARKS acting in a deliberate manner not to listen to valid Appeals and only interested in YOUR MONEY £££££££.

Bewl Water have stood by and done nothing to support us I will let you the reader form your own opinion from this?

My advise if you are thinking of visiting Bewl Water is Don't unless you want to be fleeced by...

My mate and I did Bedgebury Red circuit in the morning and then Bewl in the afternoon. An excellent balanced day of cycling. Really enjoyed the cycle route around Bewl water. But, its not a smooth flat cycle path. More of an off road trail with stoney pavement sections and a some road sections (narrow country lanes with some light traffic - not good for small children). We were fine on mountain bikes, but we passed a couple of families with small children who were struggling with the surface and the hills. There were a few steep and long climbs and road sections too. There were several sections that would potentially catch a novice rider out (squidgy single track, loose and uneven surfaces and wet muddy puddles that crossed the full width of the trail. I will definitely be coming back to do this again, but i wont be bringing my 5 and 8 year old to cycle here for a few more years ... You can get a boat (with your bikes) to the other side of the water and cycle half the route back if you dont fancy the full circuit. Cafe looked nice and the play area looked good so could bring my family for that.
