I walk here regularly after work and somtimes at the weekend on my way to Rushcliffe Country Park. If you walk to the far side of the woods there is an underpass that goes under the duel carriageway to Landmere Lane in Ruddington. Sharphill Wood can be particularly stunning in the spring and summer months, and there are some great views across the hills and over West Bridgford and Nottingham. If you're lucky you might see foxes, badgers, rabbits, rodents and a large variety birds depending on the time of day. However, the new Edwalton housing estate has ruined the views to one side, and I've noticed a lot more dog poo bags being left dotted along the footpaths and hungs from trees since that estate popped up. Kids have also vandalise a couple of areas to turn them into bike trails. If it weren't for these issues it would get 5 stars.
