Fantastic Day at the Alpine Snowsports Centre!
My daughter attended a one-day holiday camp at the Alpine Snowsports Centre in Aldershot, and I wasn’t sure what to expect at first. Upon arrival, there were many children and teenagers eagerly waiting for the session to start, which created a wonderful buzz of excitement.
Despite the wet February weather, my daughter had an incredible time! The instructors were extremely helpful and supportive. Since she hadn’t skied in three years and we couldn’t go skiing abroad this year, I was unsure how she would manage. However, thanks to Dan—whose coaching style, patience, and clear instruction were outstanding—she quickly regained her confidence and even progressed to the advanced group.
I’m so grateful to the entire Alpine Snowsports Centre team for making us feel so welcome, despite the gloomy weather. It was truly refreshing to see so many children enjoying outdoor physical activity, regardless of the conditions. We may not have made it to the slopes in France, but we certainly had just as much fun right here in Aldershot!
Keep up the great work, and thank...
Read moreI loved my snowboard lesson with Martin. Thank you! I tried a lesson at Guildford first but was frustrated as I only did heel slides straight down the slope for the whole hour and felt this was too slow and I was ready to progress further. Within the first ten minutes with Martin I already learnt more than in my hour at Guildford. We started with some other (actually mote basic stuff) first which were not touched on in my first lesson and them moved to heel slides bringing in different ways of turning and drifting etc then moving on to toe slides practicing flipping the board over etc. Another plus - the slope is longer and it gives you more time to practice instead of taking your board on and off the whole time. I also learnt how to use the lift and was given tonnes of useful information, none of which I got at Guildford. No offence to them but if you are trying to chose between the two, as I was, Aldershot is streaks ahead! I was signed off for open practice by the end...
Read moreI went for the beginners learn to ski day on 4 Feb. To begin with 10-5 is too long for a beginner. Two half days would be much better.
The slope was crowded with lessons (ours, individuals, small groups and snowboards), there were also skiers skiing past at speed, the instructor shouted at me without explaining how to do something. I left traumatised and bruised from several falls.
Some of the instructors teaching individuals made some helpful suggestions so maybe I was unlucky but the teacher that taught the full day was not at all constructive.
I don't normally post negative reviews publicly but the complaints form on the website didn't work and the company emailed me and requested I post on TripAdvisor and Google so here it is!
