Friendliest Harbour I've ever been in. I was a boatmaster to trade and sailed tugs from Northern Norway to Bergen and exferries from Norway to Cameroon etc. The friendliest people I'd met till now we're in Cameroon. The most unfriendly were in Howth Harbour in Ireland with a very ignorant Harbour master. The whole of the staff here are so friendly with no pressure on how long you wish to stay and help in anyway they can. Refueling here is easy the tanker can come over the harbour bridge right to your boat. I really like it here and might just stay a bit longer for a bit of fishing. The burgh is noted as a base for viewing the local offshore sea life. These include one of the most northerly groups of bottlenose dolphins. Cromarty, along with Chanonry Point just round the coast, is one of the best places in Europe to see these animals close to the shore.
