I only discovered this memorial last week by chance, I passed the Spitfire on a bus and had to go back to find out why it was there. It is a striking memorial comemorating the lives of young men who travelled from the four corners of the world to fight and ultimately gave their lives training to deliver the freedom we all enjoy and take for granted.
I can only thank these few and the thousands of others who never lived to sit free on a bench in the spring sunshine thinking of their sacrifice having read their names and brief details who they were and of the the future they helped...
