Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre — Attraction in Scotland

First-time cross country skiing - we had a blast!

So, though we missed the snow the centre is equipped to train you the basics of cross country skiing on a dry ski slope and specialist carpeted flat training areas; and roller skies for the more experienced. We undertook the Adult beginners class.

Within the hour of tuition, we had come to grips with the fundamentals and had a lot of fun doing so. Next stop the Adult improvers class with an introduction to the roller skies.

Our instructor was very professional, friendly, and informative. She split the lessons into manageable chunks to make learning the skills straight forward and fun, slowly building up our confidence and technique. The centre has taught from beginner to Olympic athlete - which is impressive, so you know that you are in good hands. There is also a club.

The rental equipment was in very good condition and of good quality and the centre and facilities well located and well equipped.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the centre for learning cross country skiing - give it a go you...

A fantastic facility with super helpful and friendly staff. Took my sister's family there (niece and nephew) who were raw beginners. Lucky to have a snow day and there was about 3 inches of snow on the practice area at the centre. Lillie, who ran the ski hire shop, was really patient and helpful sorting out skis, boots etc for them and got them started on the practice area with basic instruction for no extra cost. Really helpful, and the kids absolutely lapped it up. Stopped for a hot chocolate (made by Lillie)and continued having fun for an hour or so thereafter. The kids said it was the best part of their week's holiday. Great value for money and great fun....

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre. Duncan kitted us out with decent equipment and gave us a speedy intro to x country skiing using the artificial tracks and then we met Elizabeth up in the forest to try out our new skills on snow. Elizabeth was great - she taught us some more skills and then led us into the forest and to a fabulous view point. She allowed us to go at our own pace whilst also motivating us to go a bit further/take on some more challenges. Thanks to both Duncan and Elizabeth for making our first time x country skiing...
