What an amazing place! A friend and I went for breakfast and ended up going back for dinner too!
A lovely welcoming environment, with lovely attentive staff.
We both had the full cooked breakfast. Beautifully cooked, lovely selection and perfect portion sizes. Coffee was amazing , full flavoured and smooth.
We were brought complementary, freshly baked rolls with a herb butter. While our main course was being cooked. For dinner we both had Steak pie, greens and mash. The steak pie pastry was perfectly crisp, the meat very tender, and the mash was super smooth. It came with a wee jug of gravy on the side. I could have eaten a bowl of the vegetables as a main. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly 👌.
We decided it would be rude not to have dessert, so I had chocolate marquise, it came with a delicious raspberry sorbet and mint crisp, on a bed of chocolate crumb. The flavours and textures were beautiful 😍.
It was really lovely to have the option of coffee or drinks/cocktails after the meal, through in the lounge area. This is another very well thought out room, a lovely place to relax and chat after dinner.
I'll definitely be back. P.s, the fudge was...
Read moreFirst time at this first class restaurant having dinner for 5 to celebrate my parents visiting. Not sure what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting something of this high standard. Outstanding food, presentation and service. The restaurant itself is a superb venue. Modern, elegant. It looks great. Apparently they have an Italian chef and there was a special, one-off italian menu on offer alongside a more traditional one. We all opted for the Italian menu. Everything was excellent. This was the best Italian meal I've had in a very long time, if ever. My father dined at an Italian restaurant in London earlier in the week and it wasn't anywhere near as good as the meal at The Bank. A couple of highlights were melt-in-your-mouth calamari cooked to perfection in a light batter with a lemon dipping sauce; venison lasagne prepared how lasagne should be, not a drippy gooey mess; a traditional lemon cake with an inspired crushed mint ice accompaniment, a tasty Puglia. Ok, there were a lot of highlights! Excellent value. I think it worked out aout £30 a head and you can’t complain about that. Highly recommend going. We will...
Read moreI visited for an early dinner with my 2-year-old daughter, and we had an absolutely lovely experience. The service was exceptional warm, welcoming, and perfectly attentive and our food arrived promptly, which is always appreciated when dining with little ones.
We started with the complimentary, freshly baked in-house bread, served with beautifully seasoned whipped butter – a perfect bite to enjoy while waiting for our food. My daughter had the kids’ macaroni with garlic bread, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the children’s menu. It’s refreshing to see options that wouldn’t look out of place on an adult menu!
I opted for the Steak and Ale pie and swapped the mashed potato for hand-cut chips, which were cooked to absolute perfection, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. For dessert, we shared the poached rhubarb with yoghurt and vanilla mousse, topped with caramelised hazelnuts. The rhubarb was nothing short of incredible, it was delicate, flavourful, and beautifully balanced.
A truly enjoyable meal in every sense – we’ll...
