The crumbling shell of the turn of the 17th Century Invergarry Castle still looks somewhat imposing to this day despite it's ruined walls and modern fencing all round the perimeter designed to keep the public out. It requires next to no imagination to see what a strategic location it must have been in the era of Clan yre and the Jacobite rebellions. So don't just do the castle and the boat wreck, do the hotel, grab a coffee and a cake, which I can recommend, I hasten to add. The castle is cool, and you can imagine the times and the era, However, if I may, they need to cut away some of the bushes and shrubs so that you can get a full imaginative feel for the castle. We enjoyed it, and the coffee, was worth the stop, you tell me which Macbethean, Scottish castle ruin is not worth a visit!.. do go to the hotel and grab a...
