We had the recent pleasure of staying at Glengarry Castle Hotel in Invergarry. In our opinion it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment we walked through the gigantic doors we were greeted with the warmth and hospitality of Scotland’s past. The staff at the hotel was exceptional, professional and friendly. The hotel itself is so charming -- the lobby, lounge and library exude elegance and sophistication of Scotland history. Our room was clean, spacious and tastefully, historically decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was bright and clean and a nice size. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed a walk to the Invergarry Castle ruins. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking panoramic view from our suite that overlooked the loch. It was simply mesmerizing and peaceful, especially during sunrise and sunset. The hotel’s lounge and library were the perfect spots to unwind with a nightcap in front of a roaring fire. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel multiple days and each were excellent and exceeded our expectations in both service, quality and deliciousness. During our stay we did day road trips from the hotel and we always looked forward to returning to relax in the lounge with a drink and reflect on our day’s adventures. If you are visiting the Invergarry area, we highly recommend Glengarry Castle Hotel for an...

This was such a gem. The castle itself is more of a 19th century mansion but it is beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous and expansive. There is a lake several hundred yards down the hill that you can see from the hotel’s stately library and team room. I was charmed by the large tree whose branches overhang the stone pier. There is a trail that leads from the hotel to the Ivergarry Castle Ruin which was really cool. There is a fence around it but you can walk around the small castle ruin and see pretty much everything that is left. There are some stunning trees along the walk that looked to be several hundred years old.

The room was spacious and the bathroom enormous. The beds comfortable.

The dinner was a real surprise. I didn’t expect much considering it almost exclusively serves its relatively small number of hotel guests. But it was incredible. The venison was delicious. The elderberry tart was incredible. My kids tell me the chicken goujons were on point.

Overall the vibe was old school luxury hotel that specializes in incredible service. It doesn’t have any high tech features, and the room key was an actual key. But that all played into the charm of it instead of detracted. I would...

Our stay was fabulous! Travelling with our son and his wife, the four of us could not have asked for a better experience while staying at the Glengarry Castle Hotel - peace and tranquility amongst beautiful surroundings. Yet just a short (about 15 min) drive to Fort Augustus for shopping, restaurants and amenities. The hotel had a calming effect on all of us, especially when we relaxed on the rear terrace with a cocktail overlooking the view of the mountains and Loch Oich after a long day of touring nearby.

The hotel allowed us to feel engaged with nature, while taking in several stunning sunsets. It was exactly the medicine we needed and more than we hoped for. The area has plenty of charm and character, friendly people, and easy access to nearby villages. Overall, the Glengarry Castle Hotel is 5 star, very well appointed and has all the amenities you need. If it is peace and tranquility you are looking for and time away from home to destress, look no further. This is the place to stay. We'll be...

I love, love, love this place. I have stayed at Glengarry Castle Hotel on several occasions and the prices are always reasonable. I always have secured room #25 for my stay. I loved the charm, scenery and location of this castle. I also love that this castle is secluded and quiet. The front desk staff are very friendly. I wish there were a few more choices of entrées on the menu. However, the food is excellent. This is a perfect location to stay at to explore the Highlands, Loch Ness and to stay over after traveling to/from the Isle of Skye. I highly recommend Glengarry Castle Hotel. It definitely gets 5 stars in my book.

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights here and it was everything we expect. It was a quiet getaway on a loch with no interruptions. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We needed a ride to Invergarry with our luggage to the bus stop and one of the staff members stepped up and took us instead of having to haul the luggage on the rustic path. Supper was always fantastic with local sourced food. Breakfast was more than I thought. There were so many options and the portion of salmon with the eggs was much more than I thought. It was a great time and I hope one day to go back.
