Beautiful area for a swim on a hot day and to stop for a picnic or a barbeque as there is a fire pit here. You'll find the downstream parking area at the co-ords on my last photo rather than using the location given on googlemaps for the falls themselves - I tried to add it as a hiking area. The signpost here points the way, just follow the river and keep left on the path. Some steep and rocky parts so not wheelchair or pushchair friendly but great views from both the top and bottom of the falls from this route and if you go in the evening the chances of seeing deer on the riverbank are quite high. You can also park by the cemetary or distillery and follow the signposted routes from there to approach the falls from the opposite direction. Either way takes around a 15 minute walk

Parking is ample on the nearby main street of Aberlour, the path up to the falls is well signed. The route itself is well maintained making the going quite easy. It is a fair bit of uphill but take your time as the scenery and atmosphere is amazing. At the falls themselves there is a bench or 2, the site before you is amazing and well worth the visit! Definitely worth a swim and a cool off on a hot day! Carry on up past the falls before eventually turning right along a woodland path, following this all the way down to the road, downhill back into the main town for a decent looped walk. The Mash Tun pub awaits you for some amazing food once you’ve built up the appetite.

A really lovely walk from the Distillery path ● Plenty parking avaliable on the main road or a little walk away in a public car park. ● Make sure to wear sensible foot wear as trail is quite rocky and has a good amount of exposed tree roots. ● Walk to the falls takes around 15 minutes even with 2 small children ● A quick paddle in the water was refreshing and not too cold for a 4 year old There are also plenty places nearby to grab a hot drink or food if you like a fancy peice and a fly cup after your outing.

Great walk beautiful falls. Was busy when we went as it was over 20 degrees Celsius. So people swimming and jumping off the falls. Only thing id say as a dog owner is it would be nice to have a dog waste bin at entrance/exit. Although if ur parking in the overflow carpark at the distillery then there is a bin there which was handy. I urge any dog owners to please pick up your dog waste and discard correctly in a bin. I picked up a dog waste bag that was had been left on the side of the path. I just think if ur going through the effort to pick it up then just carry it to a bin ... DONT leave on the...
