Absolutely stunning beach. We had a great day and the fact that it’s dog friendly was the biggest draw to it as we were away with our dog in tow. Was excellent for paddle boarding too. We had to zoom in on the map to find the car park as initially it kept taking us to the beach opposite. Be warned though when using the car park and walking down along the beach to access the main stretch to head back before the tide comes in, as when it does it completely covers the original path taken to get to the main stretch of beach. It should have dawned on us that’d be the case but it honestly didn’t and with absolutely no signs to let you know we almost got caught short and would have had to exit via a set of stairs that we had no idea...
Read moreThis beach is a gem of a beach that is not too busy at any time. The beach is lovely soft sand with a gentle slope so safe for swimming. DO NOT park at the Porthkidney car park, it is a rip off. Best to park near St Uny's church if you can, walk down the side of the church through the golf course, turn left before the railway bridge to this huge beach or go straight on to the smaller Hayle Sands beach. Read moreNot easy to find under the name Porthkidney but under Hayle beach. Dogs allowed when we visited and I think until 1st July. Fabulous long walk on a clean beach with relatively few people when I went early June. Spectacular views, dogs loved the sea and very little debris / rubbish so didn't need to worry what they were playing with. I saw absolutely no dog mess just lovely fine sand and an expanse of it....
