Beware Swimmers! I gave this 1 star because 0 is not available!
I came to this lake 8 days ago after reading an article on ‘I ❤️ MCR’. It talked about Levenshulme Lake as a secret swimming spot along with a number of other places in the Manchester area.
The approach was rubbish filled and dirty. We found somewhere to swim and noticed Anglers on the other side of the bank who we stayed away from. Read moreFirst noticed this lake on google maps a few weeks sgo..finally arrsnged a visit..approached it from the fallowfield loop. New houses to the south and a school to the north. A hidden oasis. Left by the south west route lots of evidence of dumping at the back of the houses. This route now closed to vehicles by a large fence with just a gap...

I wished I had taken aqua-shoes, because there is still a bit of rubbish, but we found a spot to get in and out safely. It was very pleasant sitting on the bank afterwards to eat our picnic lunch, with lots of birds and...
