I was given the Blacksmith experience as a gift and today was the day that I got to use it.
What an excellent experience! I'd been looking forward to it, since i received it as a gift and on top of that I was lucky enough to have had Joe as my instructor. Joe clearly has a passion for Blacksmithing and it shows in how he functions, demonstrates and explains as an instructor. Because of this, he was able to extract the best out of the attendees. A genuinely nice guy too. Derek was also fantastic, warm, welcoming and hospitable. In fact, everyone was friendly. The fact that these guys all volunteer and keep Chadhams Yard operational is absolutely inspiring. Its a small place, but well worth a visit if you're a local like me, or just visiting for the day. The cake and coffee was also very satisfying.
I will absolutely go back, even if it is just for some cake, coffee and a chat. Thanks again, to all of you that make the experience at Chedhams...

Run completely by volunteers hence open only 1 day a week. Volunteers friendly and informative. Next Saturday demo of the old skill of iron tyre fitting to wooden cartwheel.
