Ok an honest report of how we found it. Lodge - really good, modern, well equipped, no complaints really, the on suite shower didn't work properly but no major issue. Park - nice and clean, plenty of areas to walk the dog and for the kids to play. Activities - Indoor pool, nice facility with slides and a splash park for smaller kids. If you don't book before going you will not get a slot as we found out. We were lucky to get one session late in the week, our friend's not so lucky. Finlake need to sort out a fairer system as alot of people missed out due to a few booking every day. Likewise with all the other activities virtually everything for the kids fully booked when we arrived. So you must pre-book. Staff - alot of the pub and swimming pool/activity staff seem new to the job and a little clueless at times. This should improve as holiday people return.
Overall a great week with great weather, would of struggled...
Read moreThey have a selection of pool items to purchase when you enter the building, the place is a new build, pool is on the small side, it has a big area for smaller children, with various slides, mini flume and water jets, two flumes for 8+ in the main pool area, the main pool has a gradient, so gets deeper slowly which is nice for smaller children, arrived early which was great as the place was nearly empty, but soon filled up, they also have tables and chairs so you can sit and watch your children.
We among others found the lockers to be hit and miss, the locks wouldn't engage on various ones, some people had worked out a technique to get them to shut properly. If you can't get one ask the staff for help.

Read moreAbsolutely beautiful place. We stayed in a lodge with a hot tub which was nice at the end of the day to relax in. The pool was great for the children and easy lockers to lock everything in. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and service and food was lovely. The walks around the lake is nice and if you follow off some of the paths you get to a little pixie woodland which is fun for the children to see all the fairies and wildlife. My only downside would of been the fact our lodge must be a dog friendly lodge which I did not see when we booked this. You could smell dog on the rug and lots of hair which is very unpleasant. But apart from that very clean and tidy. Would...
