Naze Tower is a historic landmark located on the east coast of Essex, England. It's a fascinating attraction that offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history of the area and provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding coastline. As someone who has visited Naze Tower, I can say that it's an excellent place to visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or just looking for a beautiful view. The tower itself is an impressive structure, standing tall at 86 feet high, and it's steeped in history, dating back to the 18th century. Inside the tower, there are several floors of exhibits and displays, providing visitors with information about the history of the area and the role the tower played in coastal defence during World War II. One of the highlights of the tower is the top floor, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline, including the North Sea and the surrounding countryside. What I particularly appreciated about Naze Tower was the well-informed and friendly staff. They were happy to share their knowledge about the history of the area and the tower, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Naze Tower. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or just looking for a great view, the tower has something for everyone. With friendly staff, engaging exhibits, and breathtaking scenery, it's a wonderful day out for visitors of all ages.

New favourite beach/nature reserve on the eastern coast. It's amazing when it's sunny, as you can go hunting for shark teeth on the rocky beach, bring your dog all year round, splash around in the little pools left by the high tide in the sheltered little beaches between the piers (safe for little ones) and go swimming/body boarding when it's hot. It's also good on a grey, windy day, because the coastal walk is beautiful and the green next to the Naze Tower is perfect for kite-flying. There's also a wonderful visitor centre (with great gifts) with toilets and a little shop that's perfect for ice-creams and any beach gear you may need. And ample parking! If you really want amusements or fish & chips, you can go further south to the town centre. The Naze Tower itself is a lovely historic site to visit, really good value as you can climb to the top (stunning views) but you can also enjoy history boards, art galleries and tea rooms on several of the floors on the way up/down. Overall, such an amazing, cheap day out.

Lovely visit to the Tower. The access is a very narrow spiral staircase so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The stairs take you through levels you can stop and view local artwork and rest on the way if needed. Once you get to the top the view is amazing! Pick a clear day for best views. There is a write up telling you what you can see, my only improvement would be depending on where you are standing give you a visual and description for that view. Art work is amazing if you want to treat yourself and you can grab a coffee at the little place outside. We then took a walk along the beach and military walk around the reserve visiting old pillbox remains which was interesting.

Nicely maintained structure. Pleasant staff. Besides the ground floor, the tower is split into 8 levels each connected with a tight circular metal staircase. The top floor is uncovered and the 360° view is well worth the climb on a clear day. 6 internal levels have various artworks on display and for sale. 1 of the levels is dedicated to the history of the tower. The total step count is 104 so be prepared. At the base there is a small tea shop who's goodies one can consume outside, on the grassy uncovered area, or on the first two floors where a few tables and chairs have been provided. Interesting old tower. Local historical society has made a base there. Also there is a large café/restaurant + toilet facilities. As well as the tower there are magnificent sea views. There is a car park and also a cliff path for walkers, with access down to the beach and sea A decent little base for an afternoon or even a whole day. Not so much for very young children but for older ones plenty along the paths for the inquisitive and beach and sea for coastal fun I don't know if there are car park charges, Tich and I walked very slowly along the cliff path and found enough benches to allow me to rest and make it there

If you like towers...this is a great day. Just get there in the next few years as those cliffs are not going to be there for ever! 80feet if brickwork, metal spiral staircase and great views from the top, too. Art works are present ( and for sale) on all floors and friendly staff, a lovely coffee wagon, a nearby Essex Wildlife outlet and toilets with the ample car park make for a great day. The beach is great for searching the clay pools, shallow gradient means safe and calm - just don't get caught out by the tide!

Description
The Hanoverian tower, more commonly known as the Naze Tower, is situated at the start of the open area of the Naze. It was a navigational tower, constructed to assist ships on this otherwise fairly feature-less coast.
