Nice place to visit. To the right of the steps down the cliff you have sandy beaches at low tide, to the left, towards the crumbling cliffs you have steps down to the beach that's part sand and part rocks.
Both beaches dissappear at high tide with the steps down to the left hand side beach, under the crumbling cliff, covered by the sea... Look for tide times before you go, or its a bad scramble up a dangerous cliff or rock jumping to get back to the car park.
Sharks teeth, shells and fossil wood can be found in the shingle with the fossil wood being everywhere. Teeth and shells take a little time to find.
Low tide you have rock pools, collapsed pill boxes that have crashed down the cliff face and a nice walk along the beach. Takes about an hour to complete a loop from the cliff stairs, along the beach and back up through the heath land.
Also, don't stand near the cliff edge.
This might sound silly but the edge is not the edge.. The cliff has an undercut so you will probably only have 50cm of ground underneath your feet and then open air.
Don't go splat, watched a whole family line up on the edge once, nice way to go.
Be careful of the mud, it can be deep and...

Imagine being the first human to uncover the remains of a living creature, untouched since the dawn of time! There is also viking irrigation piping to find, a lost Stone age settlement, a petrified forest, a WW1 shooting range (where you can find discarded bullets), remains of a mysterious railway, and a host of abandoned WW2 pill boxes which can be explored at low tide. Throw in stunninf views of the shipping at Felixstowe, rock pools to explore, and the usual fun to be had on a sandy beach, and you have a recipe for an...
