10th June 2017 - Fantastic day out!
We arrived about 10/ 10.30am and parked outside the Botany Bay hotel & restaurant, (we had no problem parking but can imagine it would get busy) where we had cream teas (scones etc.) and coffees and lemonade for the little one and it was very reasonable (cost). It was a 2 minute walk to the beach with a beautiful shrubbery entrance I have attached a picture to which you will see a little white box building half way down which are the toilets (very clean, tiny sink, no showers but they do the job). The beach its self is beautiful, its a small little cove beach with talc like soft sand. There are life guards walking around so very safe too. Its main attraction are the striking rock formations rising out of the ground (picture attached) and if you walk through there is another small beach. There was one shop on the beach renting out deck chairs, wind breakers etc. and selling the traditional buckets and spaces & toys. It also sold hot food, ice, creams, drinks etc. and as you can expect is a little pricy but not as bad as some places we have been to along the coast (bottle of water was 1 pound). Walking into the water was great sand straight in and good for swimming. MY little one loved building sand castles, collecting stones and shells. If you want to stay for the rock pooling they start forming late in the afternoon 4.30 onwards. The shops and toilets closed around 4.30/5pm too (not sure about main summer holiday months). All in all we had a fantastic day out and I would recommend this small beautiful beach to all. I can image it could get very busy in summer holidays but I don't think that would stop us from going during...

Read moreIt's a true mesmerizing experience if you are a sea lover! Make sure to go at low tide time so you can walk across the cliffs and it's so powerful you can feel the energy of the water and it's breathtaking!
Have a picnic and dip your feet in the water! Walk barefoot ! It's just amazing !
There is a lifeguard kiosk but today was closed I guess it opens in the summer season only
Not many facilities around but yes there are public toilets and a restaurant/pub within hotel facilities on the top of the bay.
Don't miss the view from the top footpath too!
And I highly suggest to walk from Botany bay back to Viking Bay in Broadstairs by the Viking coastal path.
You can also cycle it. Just two big high hills you can always push it if it's not en e-bike !
I did go from the station in the morning 11am to the bay by bus walk 15 Min to the bay and then walked back (2pm - 3pm) as explained above and it was just perfect! The tide came up just 20 Min after I arrive @12 and I was able to walk through the cliffs closer to the water just on time!
There is a great pub I raccomend to stop by at Kingsgate castle beach (with benches outside and the most...
