Kingsgate Bay is a popular beach between Broadstairs and Cliftonville, famous for its caves and sea arch, formed in the chalk cliffs.
Access to the beach is limited to the able bodies as there is only a flight of steps leading bon to the beach. Those with mobility problems may find it difficult to get down to the beach. The only other access is at low time walking along the beach from neighbouring Joss Bay (which has the only public car park in the area). This involves a walk from the Joss Bay Car Park which although a short distance, does involve walking along a piece of road with no footpath.
The only other option is the car park at the Captain Digby bar which is £10 for all day parking and only free to customers)

With dramatic white cliff arches, long sandy beaches and channel views, you can be alone in a snug beach wrapped around by chalk cliffs one moment and striding out along a mile of empty, firm sand the next. The wind can blow away your cares and at Broadstairs there's the treat of fish and chips on a crescent beach that could pass for Cornwall. A great day out. Tip: look for an AIS Marine app for your phone. It will identify and give information about all those ships anchored at sea and...

Good views of the impressive Kingsgate Castle building (not a tourist attraction), though the concrete sea defences below it detract slightly from the natural beauty. The cave on the opposite side of the bay once connected the beach to the Captain Digby pub, but has suffered damage from collapses and is now unsafe to enter. Low tide reveals a large area of wave cut platform, with rock pools home to plenty of marine life. The large rock arch is one of the more impressive chalk coastal features in the area. No parking specifically for Kingsgate Bay, so best visited by a walk from...
