Found out about Dhalia beach from Instagram and didn't get to go last year but made the trip this year to see all of the different varieties ready for selecting dhalias for my wedding next year. Travelled from St Albans to see it 😊 got some of my favourites to take home. Great place to visit and treat yourself to freshly cut beautiful dhalias from a huge range. So nice to have an English grown super fresh bunch that you pick yourself. I can see a couple of people saying the entry cost is abit much. But think it is important to support local businesses and that's what the entry fee is and you can see how much love goes into this farm and the whole business. You can't compares stem prices to wholesale/shop bought Dhalias that are grown on huge farms in Holland with a big supply chain. It's the same as buying from a local farm shop. One thing to note is currently the website tickets say 10am next to them, I assumed correctly that's just when they open 😊

Follow the signs for PYO - I had a lovely time walking amongst the Dahlias today- so many varieties. £5 to walk round, I think this is ok - I paid £7 to go round the lavender fields in the Cotswolds. I picked 5 stems £10 and then used foliage from home. There were workshops going on outside the pink bus. Everyone there was so friendly and happy. I think for me two things would have helped. Picnic bench or benches to sit down amongst the flowers plus something to keep the stems wet for the journey home. Maybe best to bring something to transport the blooms home in as they dry out quite quickly.

A wonderful business run by a lady with infectious passion and enthusiasm which I truly believe creates the 'happy flowers' she produces! I have bought countless tubers from Dahlia Beach and attended a couple of fun events. Highly recommend for quality and just to add a little of that energy to your day! If you're not following Andie (DahliaBeach) on insta, you;'e missing out!

Visited today, 2nd September, came from Bristol whilst visiting the maize maze at Millets with my partner and we both felt £5 a head to visit was very expensive to gain entry to the flower field. I wanted to pick my own dahlias elsewhere but only found one other place and that was an hour from Bristol, near Chew Lake - this location at Millets was 1.5 hours travel from home. The stems are £2 each which is expensive but that's not abnormal for flowers per stem - I would not have minded if the entry wasn't so steep. Overall I walked away with 5 stems for £20 inc. entry for us both to the field.

Online the images show people with finished bunches of flowers, so be mindful accompanying leaves etc. aren't included in the price - just your chosen stems. There are a lovely selection of different colours and types/sizes and the field location is pleasant. You can borrow scissors upon arrival so you don't necessarily need to bring your own cutters. The staff member on site was lovely and offered water for the flowers, and some helpful advice on maintaining them once cut. The main drawback is purely the entry fee at £5...

We made a last minute booking for the dahlia arranging experience and are so glad we did. The farm itself is fantastic with something for everyone. Arriving at the dahlia fields we were warmly greeted, then again when we got to the class area. We had a thorough explanation of how to pick the perfect flowers for our bouquets then let loose in the field. It was bliss! After that we headed onto the bus (really!) and the wonderful Lily turned us all into pros. Every single person had a stunning bouquet to take home. It was a lovely wholesome, relaxing, creative and rewarding experience. Highly...
