This is a well hidden treasure!! A small walk depending on the route you take. It's a wide variety of terrain from grass to gravel and in winter ankle high in mud. There is 1 big lake that is the centre of the park. Great for dogs to have a good swim. Great for fishermen. There is some inclines on the way round, there is also the canal on the entrance to the park so you can choose a canal walk in stead. This is a great spot for photograph opportunities its buzzing with wildlife...

Great trail and walk to be had here. Lovely landscape and walk and some peaceful spots for relaxing on a nice day. The only downside would be that the trail and park is not pushchair or wheelchair friendly. I wish there was a way to make these trials more accessible for those of us who need help with our mobility. I know it is tough, it is just a shame! Overall a lovely place and I would recommend it to people. Also a small carpark but free parking which is...

Easy to find, small car park, a lovely short walk with lots of options to divert from the main trail. Plenty for younger kids to see to keep them entertained and suitable for bikes. Lots of spots to stop for a picnic, not wheelchair friendly but light weight pram/buggy will be fine. Only 2 mile main trail so did a second trail out and came back along the canal bank, about the...

Came here as I heard there were Parakeets here. I wasn't disappointed, I counted about 6. I also saw Great Cormorants perched in the trees. Lime Pits is a small area of nature in an urban area. The only negative, the car park gets used for late night activities and they leave a lot of rubbish behind. It's not pleasant to see when you want to go for a quiet walk

A beautiful, secluded and peaceful nature reserve. Its close to two great pubs and local canal allows for longer walks from it, including to the Arboretum. Worth seeing in every season with an abundance of small birds. Pic from March 2020

We went on a very foggy and cold day and thoroughly enjoyed the walk, you definitely need wellies or old walking boots as it's very muddy (dont forget spare shoes and a bag for the muddy boots if you dont want mud in the car)
