Came for the festive Fayre meal the 2 ladies on the bar that night where amazing. Starters came out they were really nice, mains came out they were on cold plates but food was nice and hot the meal was lovley untill we got to the dessert we all ordered cheesecake and it looked.really.nice apart from it being FROZEN now after informing a member off the wonderful bar ladies. She took our dessert away and informed us the so called chef stated it has ice cream.in the middle. Then a couple mins later the same desserts came back out and we were informed the "chef had made it edibible to eat" as.we all on the table could.tell by the state of.the cheesecake it had.been put under the hot lights as the cream was warm and im sorry i didnt fancy FOOD POISONING and just to add insult the dessert was still FROZEN !!!!!
after a second time of a frozen dessert and we asked to speak to Andy the manager as we were not happy as im sorry but no way can frozen cheesecake be defrosted in a matter of minutes. Andy tired to explain by saying the dessert has an ice cream centre and called it either a pavwa or a bavwa i dont know he was clearly trying to think of.anything to stop us moaning The menu should be clearly.advertised as if you were meant to be advertising a dessert with an ice cream middle .should be stated on the menu if you state cheesecake not FROZEN CHEESECAKE.
we.were not happy with the way we were spoken to and when we were asked we could have something else we chose.crumble asked could one us have custard and the response we.got was quite sharp as the words your taking the piss as a customer i dont expect to be spoken to like that especially as a guest. There.was no need for.it .
Overall nice meal apart from dessert and the 2 girls behind the bar was lovley just the managers attitude and the dessert.
The pub is a lovley place and we love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely abhorrent customer service and severe lack of human decency. Arrived as a small group, a few with masks and 2 without including myself (exemption due to severe asthma). Within 30 seconds of entering the building 3 members of staff (2 behind the bar and one in front of us) aggressively yelled at our group demanding we wear masks. Attempts were made to try and explain my condition and exemption however I was confronted by the man from behind the bar who continued to ignore me. It wasn't long before all three staff members shouted us out of the building, clearly to the alarm of the surrounding customers. I would never consider returning to this place again and highly advise anyone considering making the trip to look elsewhere. There are an abundance of nice restaurants/pubs/bars in the area who are extremely welcoming and despite having strict Covid-19 rules they were able to calmly explain the situation to us and even went above and beyond to help us access the beer garden without needing to enter the building and providing masks for those who...

We booked and paid a deposit to hold a wake here for my grandfather who recently passed. A week later they phoned up to tell us they could no longer host it because they had BINGO on that day. So instead of upholding their booking with us they decided to contact a grieving family to tell us that the bingo was far more important than for us be able to celebrate my grandfathers life. We now have to not only to scramble to find another venue; another stress added to an already grieving family; but also have to contact a plethora of family and friends to let them know that The Boathouse prioritise their afternoon bingo over a booked wake. I understand it was a mistake on their part but it was a mistake that shouldnāt have happened and quite frankly iād feel absolutely ashamed of myself to phone a family in our situation to deliver this revelation.
So Danny, give yourself a pat on the back mate, stellar performance there! What a stand-out establishment you...
