A definite yes....100% RECOMMENDED.....why.....I will explain. If you have patience to read by the end of review you will agree with me and my rating...if I can say this is views of my family too....we recently did our 10 year old kids birthday party there and we can share a very recent experience
Let me go point by point....
As a location, it's nice green views all around. To reach the place, you mostly go through non traffic routes, thus fairly non congested routes. It has its own parking plus an overflow parking, and if even that is filled, people do park on the side of the road till its point of entry (inside that is all TOP GOLF'S area. The parking is quite generous... Should I say American styled. I had more than 2 feet or so on both sides after I parked our Audi Q5 centrally on the bay...so definite wide and safe parking...
You can do three four things here....Just come and have breakfast or lunch or evening food .. or have a game and have food or snacks while playing....or play mini crazy golf...the smaller version but not small in any way...adults play yhe game and families and groups enjoy crazy golf like anything...give it a try if you haven't....I bet you will love it....especially if you are two three families and finally enjoy events (kids birthday) or even an adult for that matter. There is an arcade sort of thing as well. ICE hockey,' video games, etc...
Quality and taste - Just awesome ...finger licking good. We are typical indian foodie family and if know indian you would agree...food and its taste is very very important.... we loved it thoroughly... everything...woe. are vegetarians, but seeing the state of the house ( houseful mostly), I could bet all of the varieties served in food would have a great taste.
EXPERIENCE - Last but not least the amities are clean and the staff are very good and understand service. Our event guy Nathan for our child's 10 birthday was with us all the 1 hour ...he came got us into the play area explained everything remained there for all the help and then when we came back he was around to get food for kids, kept asking us if we needed anything, and helped with arranging all the needed things till cake cutting....I tell you I have done 9 birthdays in different places but never did I have such and nice overall experience.
Well done, Topgolf. Well done, Nathan Tait and all the staff behind the scenes....God job guys keep it up.
For readers, I am posting photos that might help you understand a bit. If you are now in agreement with what I said earlier, do leave a...
Read moreAs much as the experience is great fun, it takes a long time to get to that point, this time it was a four hour wait before we got to play, which is insane. I get that the idea for them, at least, is so make you sit around so you spend more money (great business plan), but four hours to play two games...
The chilli cheese dog was awful, red in skin so closer to a savaloy, and the chili wasn't great. I ordered a 2 pint stein, of which they'd apparently run out of yet hadn't mentioned it to me and then served two single pints. Tater tots were decent though.
All in all, I like the idea and it's great fun but waiting around that long, alongside the prices of drinks (pretty much London prices) such as 6.20 or so for a pint, plus terrible food, isn't s great experience.
Updated review
We went back as some friends were down and it was an even worse experience and we'll never be back. Pushy service which we then noticed service charges - it's not a posh upscale restaurant, how can you justify a service charge? The food again was average to bad, spicy Mac and cheese was awful and not spicy, tater tots were lukewarm and soggy, wings were fine but not listed as spicy (they are slightly), the burger my friend got was poor and dry. To add to this, they didn't clean and take away plates and glasses for over an hour.
We then proceeded to wait 4 and a half hours before getting into a lane, along the way, we got to 1 at in the queue where we waited 45 minutes and saw numerous people go ahead who were further back in the queue... All because they had kids. I don't think breaking the rules because people choose to bring kids down late on a Saturday is very fair on the people who've been there since before 4pm, it was 8.30pm at this point. I was told (which I knew) if you want to get in quicker, book a slot, but that comes at a cost of £39.99, and that doesn't include any games, food or drinks.
I then had security speak with me as I was getting agitated and say, well I'm here to 3AM, after I said we'd been there since before 4pm. Honestly, that's not a great response and insulting. You chose this job, not me, it's not my problem you're there until 3am, if you're unhappy, change jobs?
Literally, it's nothing like this at the one I'm Las Vegas which I've visited numerous times now. I would avoid this place like the plague, unless you like wasting money and valuable hours of your life. We'll...
Read moreGreat golfing experience with a fun points system only let down by massive delays.
Been here a couple of times before and the last was on a Sunday at about 5:30 pm. It was pretty busy inside, probably because it was the weekend. We went to the Bay Check In desk and were told that there was a 'max' wait of 2 hours. For a 1st floor bay on top, we'd be 30th in the queue and for a ground floor one, 23rd! Reluctantly, I booked the top as I've been here before and felt it's better than playing from than the bottom.
We sat and ordered 1 chilli cheese fries, a plate of nachos and water (Water is free!). Be prepared, the portions here are large and suited to sharing but nevertheless, the food is brilliant. The nachos were amazing! Melted cheese on top with guacamole, sour cream and salsa dips. The chilli cheese fries were good too, in contrast to McDonald's, they seemed like they were straight from the potato. Less fried topped with a bean chilli. It wasn't very spicy though and tasted mild.
The wait was excruciating. Finally, at around 9 pm (3.5 hours later!) we got our cards and got the text for our bay. The system is easy to use. You put a basket on a machine and use your card to load 20 balls per game. Make sure you know who's basket is who's (easy way is to place something of yours in the basket without forgetting to retrieve it later). To get started you put a ball into the reader which registers it. Then tee up and score points by the various targets. Whether you're a beginner or Rory McIlroy, it's an effortless way to have fun. Overall an enjoyable experience only let down by the prolonged wait. They should possibly invest in more bays to reduce the wait times. Will be back again... but earlier!
