Visited on a reminiscing trip. When I was a kid, my riding school (Mimram stables) was based in fields under the viaduct. Just down the road one of my instructors (Robin Wells) lived in a huge cottage. She was the grand daughter of HG Wells. Not far away, lived the other joint riding school partner, Moggy (Maureen) Daniels. Robin and Moggy were also life partners (quite unusual to be "out" in the 1970's. They eventually packed up and moved to Goathland in Norths York's and then on to Barnard Castle in Co Durham. Sadly they have now both passed. Lovely ladies. Horse, dog and cat mad. Impressive structure. There is a car park next to it or street parking around. There is a short walk around it with part of the local nature reserve accessible

We come down here to watch the steam trains go over. There's parking available so a nice place to walk and take in this incredible feat of engineering
