Visited on a reminiscing trip. When I was a kid, my riding school (Mimram stables) was based in fields under the viaduct. Just down the road one of my instructors (Robin Wells) lived in a huge cottage. She was the grand daughter of HG Wells. Not far away, lived the other joint riding school partner, Moggy (Maureen) Daniels. Robin and Moggy were also life partners (quite unusual to be "out" in the 1970's. They eventually packed up and moved to Goathland in Norths York's and then on to Barnard Castle in Co Durham. Sadly they have now both passed. Lovely ladies. Horse, dog and cat mad. In York's they bred Dales ponies and had pet sheep and a Guernsey cow (making milk, cream and butter for their B&B horse riding customers). Lovely memories. Great to see my old stamping...
