Walked from the King George way over the hill to Bidston Hall. It must be the only hill in the UK that has a windmill, an Observatory and a lighthouse on top of it. You can get a very good view of Liverpool from there. I believe before telephones were invented, there used to be tall flagpoles based on it that used different coloured flags to notify the docks in Liverpool of incoming ships. An interesting place with plenty of history and nice views where you could spend a few hours...

Beautiful area for walks in any weather. The forest paths are nice and relaxing and the hills ofer beautiful views over Liverpool. The wind mill and lighthouse ofer some extra points of interest for you to visit. Now (autumn) it's a great time to search for mushroom and take beautiful photos or even get some for food if you are versed in shrooms ;) there is a lot of wildlife than can surprise you after...
