Excellent location for a country walk . especially in the autumn. Eastham Country Park runs parallel with River Mersey looking towards Liverpool and Knowsley. Large woodland area with deciduous trees beech , sycamore , birch , oak etc Park well serviced with good clean facilities, toilets, refreshments, 2x nearby pubs , a cafe , an ice cream and hot & cold drinks outlet . Eastham Country Park has large car park and well signed graded footpaths and a nearby visitor centre. There is an old bear pit in the park. This was deemed to be entertaining in VIctorian times, thankfully times have moved on since since such acts were popular. Note , car park is chargeable, but priced very reasonably . Park is easily accessible only 5 mins drive from Eastham village Only downfall is loud music emanating from one of the nearby pubs , The Tap , which attracts numbers of bikers , especially at weekends, but the noise from the live music and the bikes is outside of the remit of the Wirral Country...
Β Β Β Read moreWhat can I say? Wonderful park to walk, run, jump and skip. We use it to walk our puppy as do countless others. Dedicated dog free area (fair size) if you choose to avoid them. The bear pit is nothing spectacular at the moment. A tree has fallen in it I think. The bluebell woods was amazing whilst the bluebells were in bloom. My favourite bit in the beech groove, which is spectacular. Cathedralesque. Fabulous woodland walks. Walk over the cliffs looking at and beyond the Mersey. Mimosa cafe on site, which is slightly over priced. But on a sunny day, the pub overlooking the Mersey is perfect for refreshing. Access to three playing fields. Car park is pay and display @ Β£1.20 per hour maintained by the council. Most seem to park for free on the street. It is a wonderful urban oasis to get lost in for the two hours or so. Longer with a picnic would be wonderful on...

Over the past few years a lot of trees have been blown down due to high winds, so a few of the paths look quite different to how they used to, it seems to take many many months for any sort of tidy up to be put into action though which leaves many areas looking very messy, I know that this is a nature park so some is to be expected, and don't get me wrong as Eastham Ferry is my favourite place to go for a walk but it definitely isn't maintained as well as it should be.
Another example is a lovely path around the outside, this was cut through the undergrowth, but then after a month was almost overgrown again to the point where walking it was a bit of an arduous experience.
I guess I just love this place and would like to see it maintained well, but even if it's not I would still recommend it as place to relax your...
