I've been wanting to go for a while. So I got the chance to go for a quick visit. Thors sandstone rock is truly stunning to see. You can climb to the top and sit off and eat a picnic if you want to. Lots of visitors have engraved their name into the stone. I will definitely be going back to explore more of the area. Read moreGreat place to walk to! Park in Thurstaston common and there is a relatively easy circular trail for everyone (even dogs) that takes about an hour and a half. Thor's rock is right in the middle of the walk so great for keeping kids entertained. As they can climb and carve their names into the rock. Make sure to pack wellies though as it can get muddy!

Read moreThor's rock and its surroundings make for a great day out. Good views and nice walks can be expected here. The rock is great for climbing, for kids and adults alike - I even saw a sausage dog up their the last time I went.
There does not seem to be massive amounts of litter around and the car park is reasonably close to the rock.
It's also good for any geologists looking at fluvioglacial features.
