I've been wanting to go for a while. So I got the chance to go for a quick visit. Thors sandstone rock is truly stunning to see. You can climb to the top and sit off and eat a picnic if you want to. Lots of visitors have engraved their name into the stone. I will definitely be going back to explore more of the area. Thurstaston common takes you to other places like Royden Park, Thurstaston Hill, The Dungeon Wood, and Thurstaston Church. Would 100% recommend you...

Great place to walk to! Park in Thurstaston common and there is a relatively easy circular trail for everyone (even dogs) that takes about an hour and a half. Thor's rock is right in the middle of the walk so great for keeping kids entertained. As they can climb and carve their names into the rock. Make sure to pack wellies though as it can get muddy!

Only dropped a star because there are next to no bins available on route, so you have to carry your...

Thor's rock and its surroundings make for a great day out. Good views and nice walks can be expected here. The rock is great for climbing, for kids and adults alike - I even saw a sausage dog up their the last time I went.

There does not seem to be massive amounts of litter around and the car park is reasonably close to the rock.

It's also good for any geologists looking at fluvioglacial features.

Be sure to take wellies or boots as it is quite...

What's not to like! The views are great from the top of Thurston hill, you can see all of the wirral peninsula, Dee estuary and Mersey estuary. Well defined easy walks , only negative is that it gets a bit busy (but there's a reason for that). Great for dogs too. Thors rock itself is a sandstone outcrop, not too spectacular but it is all about the area.
