2 stars wonderful scenery and plenty of seats and free Blue Badge parking minus one star no dog litter bins on the walk but many strange fruits (apologies to Billie Holiday) only in this case dog poo bags hanging in the trees! Minus two walked in to cafe looked at menu chose what we wanted and went to the counter two people asked if there was a rubbish bin she pointed to one and we put our poo bag (double wrapped) in it the young woman asked "is that dog waste", I answered in the affirmative, she said it can't go in there so I took it out. I said there were no bins on site, she said there are general bins in the car park. Perhaps some notices would have helped . Minus third star it was about 15.10 we went to order food literal quote "Kitchens Closed" we left! We found the Biffa, I think, general bins in the car park but, big as it was the purpose was not obvious. Perhaps I missed the labels about dog waste bins only in car park, perhaps I missed the label advising opening hours at the cafe, I don't.know. I had never heard of this place came up under beaches close by. Too far to go for that sort of treatment...

Nice place to run your dog (or horse) or run/jog or walk. Can be muddy/ boggy in parts off beach area on the flats. Decent beach area for kids but not really one for rock pool discoveries. Nice views across to N.Wales. Certainly one for picnic base on beach or clifftop area at visitor centre. I have put short video on from top of visitor centre showing tide fully out (first Ihad seen it so far). So much of what you see is looking across the mud/sand banks. I have seen people walk out who obviously know area very well..otherwise not advisable in my view so just enjoy the beach.. It has nice sand areas and more pebble/stone towards water. Good for stone skimming when tide is in and usual.paddling etc. Just up from tbe beach is the visitor centre...

We left the car on Wirral country park car park and then followed the signs for the beach. I was well impressed as there weren't a lot of people at all. My daughter was a bit disappointed because we didn't get to play in the water even though I did check the high tide time, 7m wasn't high enough, opt for 8m and you will get the sea close enough. Plenty to explore, you can't play on cliffs but I liked just looking at them as they seemed very dramatic in places. Highly recommend this place for a...
