A little off the beaten track, but definitely worth a visit. Prices are a little higher than the average café in West Wirral, but the quantity and quality of the food restores parity. The food and drinks are excellent (the filter coffee was superb), service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. The indoor section looks out over open pasture and there's a well-sheltered outdoor patio area that is shielded from the prevailing westerly winds, plus a more open picnic-style area with wooden bench/tables on adjacent grassland. Highly recommended.

Stopped in motorhome overnight, rang in advance but told just to show up. Really warm welcome, tried some of the small plates and have to say they were both generous and hugely tasty....chorizo and honey was beautiful. The benefits of staying on site in our motorhome meant we could enjoy the fabulous cocktails.....the godfather and the long island spiced tea were a lovely surprise and for lager drinkers the Mahoa was a tasty choice. Thanks to Sean for the cocktail guidance

Arrived at 5.45pm on Sunday to be welcomed with a rather abrupt waitress telling us that the kitchen is closed because the chef has gone home, even though on their website says it closes at 7pm. We decided to have a beer and some crisps and sat outside. We went back in at 6.20pm to get another drink to say that they're closing. Our first visit since it was Strawberry Moon and it appears they have inherited the poor service. Disappointed.

First time I visited The Nest was last week. The place was extremely busy with a large contingent of bikers enjoying a meetup. On the strength of that, I was willing to give the staff the benefit of the doubt, regarding the abysmal service. It took around thirty minutes just to place an order then at least another thirty for the order to arrive. My companion didn't receive the sandwich that she'd ordered but didn't complain because she didn't want another lengthy wait on reordering. Mine was advertised as toasted bread but on arrival, it wasn't. There was a couple more hiccups with the communication between the waitress and the menu. Too long to explain here. The food and drink that we eventually recived was good. Decided to pay another visit this week to see if my previous visit was a one off. I'm afraid to say that the service was worse than I experienced previously. This time, there was hardly anyone in the venue and after receiving the menu I waited 15 minutes for someone to take my order. Eventually, I approached the counter to enquire if it was counter or table service. She then came to take our order. 10 minutes later our coffees were served, but unfortunately they were cold. I asked for them to be reheated, which they were. The food arrived after another 15 minute wait. As my last experience, the BLT sandwich was served on bread, not toast. As I have said previously, the food is relatively good but unfortunately I'm not prepared to wait these unnecessary lengths of time when there was only a handful of people in the place. I noticed quite a few were eating only scones and cakes etc. To my eyes there didn't appear to be a good enough reason for the delay in taking our order, through to the serving of the incomplete requests. I'm sorry this is not a place I would return to in a hurry (hurry, ha ha,...

This wasn’t the best or worst of experiences. However my reservation was made the day before our visit and was confirmed later that day. On our arrival we were told that the food service was running behind as there was to be an event that afternoon and our booking shouldn’t have been accepted. I explained that as my confirmation was accepted later in the day someone would have considered our request and, if it was not possible, would have said so. My point is that our confirmed booking should have been declined with an explanation. We would have understood. We were shown to a table as our booking was honoured. Once we ordered we waited an hour plus for the meal and our drinks by that time had been consumed. One meal brought out was not the vegan meal ordered. It was replaced though but the error should not have been made. The event party started to arrive as we were waiting with staff setting up the room for the event. As more guests arrived there was a definite feel we needed to leave. No one suggested this but we certainly didn’t want to hold back the event and, had I been the event organiser, I think I would have not been happy.

The service was fragmented as there was a definite priority to reorganising and setting up the room for the event. On the plus side, the staff were polite.

The food was very nice but overall it was disappointing following a very long wait and I feel the booking confirmation should have been realistic to respect our visit as restaurant visitors and respect the event organiser as they clearly had made their booking...

We have been here a few times and it has been absolutely lovely. Yesterday we decided to go again.... unfortunately disappointed with it. The lunch menu was good, lots to choose from, we have a dog so we ate outside, but there were cars right infront of the view which surely is wrong. There alot of building work going on as they are expanding. As we sat, a lorry turned up and dumped a large bag immediately in front of us...👀 we chose to move, but the lady said, he will only be a minute. We didn't want a builders bag view...... I'm shocked. Your attention to detail through your expansion is being wiped away. You guys seem to be going too big for your customer service. We moved to the grass area which was our choice. The lady was lovely who came out with our food. However, the girl who brought the coffee, spilt them pretty badly, didn't tell us which was the de caff, and nobody was informed of our table move... which we already had to go and tell them.

The food......... was OK. A sandwich and egg on toast with two spilt coffees was a whopping £25. I would happily pay this.... but come on guys, we unfortunately are reluctant to return as the cafe is absolutely 💯 outgrowing the way it is run.

Car park is going to be far too small and nobody absolutely has no idea if they can park right outside the front door or not. 4 cars came in , stopped and did a 3 point turn whilst we were sat there for about 8 minutes. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Cafe would be great, don't get too big...
