Lake Acworth — Attraction in Acworth

Beautiful park with pavilions and tables, grills, benches and playgrounds. Nice for a get together with a lot of people. Fourth of July fireworks are best in Georgia, last time I saw them was around 2013 but can hear it every year. The water is not the cleanest, it is fed by a tributary that’s primarily storm runoff from the local watershed (i.e. neighborhood storm-drains with all the minor pollutants that get washed off the roads, driveways). Not sure how well chemicals get filtered or separated, if at all, via natural processes on the way to the lake, but every time I see one of my neighbors washing a bit of paint into the gutter or car-washing detergent or brake dust I just think about the...

I enjoy this park and lake ONLY when they decide to allow people in!! Was coming across the bridge and saw the beach had plenty of space. Just to drive up to $10 parking, “residents only”, and that there was no more parking. They decide to hire people to guard the roads and not allow people in.
