I have to give this place one star because my experience was extremely frightening. When I arrived, I tried to park in the free lot next to the food trucks, but an older man was physically blocking a spot. At first, I thought he was holding it for someone, but it turns out he was aggressively asking for tips — in a way that felt threatening and made me very uncomfortable. Usually, behavior like that is a red flag that the area may not be safe.
Feeling uneasy, I decided to park on the nearby street. As soon as I stepped out of my car, a young man standing by a motorcycle told me I had to pay him $10 to park there. I calmly explained that public street parking in Puerto Rico is free unless marked otherwise, and there were no signs anywhere indicating a fee. He then threatened to tow my car. I told him if that was the case, he needed to show signage or information about a towing company, since that’s the legal process.
At that point, he became very aggressive. His father pulled up in a white van, and the situation escalated. The young man threatened to punch me in the face if I didn’t leave, and he started hitting my car multiple times. His father also got in my face, acting aggressively. I was terrified and immediately reported the incident to the police.
The police confirmed that these individuals are not authorized to charge for parking and that the street parking is indeed free. Unfortunately, they didn’t take much action — just gave them a warning. These people are still out there, intimidating tourists and scamming them.
I can no longer recommend this area. I’ve told my family and friends to go to Playa India, right next to Crash Boat, instead. It’s really becoming unsafe for tourists around here. Don’t just take my word for it — go see for yourself, but please be cautious. That spot has...
Read moreGreat place to visit! Pro's: Beautiful place, water is clear turquoise blue, music everywhere people bring their own big boomboxes. Have a Puerto Rican flag painted on a person size wood prop with a hole cutout so you can put your head in it take pictures. Everybody's happy and friendly, nice environment, food trucks are the bomb. If you go with money to buy prices are decent. They have pizza empanadas 🥟 beef empanadas, freshly made and fried to order, piña coladas they'll make them in the actual Pineapple if you want, but you'll have to pay a little more off course. The pizzas are really good too and crunchy. And I'm saving the best for last make sure you get chicken shish kabobs or how the Puerto Ricans like to call it "Pinchos" they are delicious. Get there between 8:00 and 9:30 or 10:00 the latest, so that you can have a good spot under a palm tree or a covered place and set up your umbrellas and everything you want. Also to be able to find a decent parking spot, there's an overflow parking spot but you have to pay for it.
Cons: Make sure you practice social distancing always. Very important, the sea can and will get feisty, you have to respect the waves, many people have drowned, even avid swimmers. Especially if they try to dive off the pier on the wrong side and get caught between the pier and the wave smashing them into it. When you go there you need to be ready with everything you need to protect yourself from the Sun... it gets very hot..... especially if you're going to make it a day trip, make sure you take your cooler, your seats, your umbrella and some sun block..yes very important..also food for the day if you don't want to buy at the kiosks. If it gets full they'll close the entrance and you won't be able to come back in if you want to...

Great beach for swimming. Water is very clear and you can see many fish swim close by you. This area had significant damage done with beach erosion. It lost some of the sandy beach, some of the small business where also lost. Some businesses have reopened and things are slowly getting back to some normalcy. This was all due to Hurricane Maria
The long Bridge/dock that lead out into the ocean water is no longer the same. It lost a significant part that went out further to the ocean during Hurricane Maria as well. The colors on the bridge have changed from what was once green and yellow back in July 2017 to a nice light blue March 2021. The door frame that once welcomed you at the bridge is also no longer there.
You can bring your own food and beverages but please take back your trash to dump at home. If you don't want to carry much, then you'll also enjoy the few local spots to purchase food and refreshments.
Yet this is a very popular beach to come too. It has a nice size parking lot area for cars and the fee is fair at about $5. Great beach for swimming, snorkeling and they also do tours for scuba diving if you want to book one. Google for that information and business. My time spent here was fun, I would recommend it and I will be back again for sure.
Oh don't forget to make a stop at the Mirador de Crash Boat Beach just before you come here. It has a beautiful view of the beach and bridge for taking nice scenic selfies.
