Cascade Valley Metro Park - Overlook Area — Attraction in Akron

Very nice smaller metro park. The Overlook is beautiful with a nice observation deck you can access by way of a paved loop trail. It connects to the Oxbow area by way of well kept natural trails which branch off from the paved trail. There are stairs if you take this route or an option to take the winding natural trail down a sloped hill following a blue trail marker. The paved trail is nice when you want a shorter walk or when it's rained and you don't want to get you or your dog muddy. This park like most in this area is very popular and always busy.

As a reminder that I Can't stress enough...please adhere to Ohio's leash laws when walking your dog. Yes we know you think your dogs the friendliest pup around. However you never know how another dog's going to react to a strange dog running up on it. Or if a child or adult is afraid of dogs and doesn't want a forced interaction.

Today it was cold and raining but, I believe it is Spring out there?! It did rain the entire time but the beauty of nature as it changes reminds one that warmer days are coming. When? If you know don't keep it a secret! I knows there are warnings out for freezing/frost on the tender plants just beginning to sprout into this winter blues world. The sprouting of these small sprouts will wait just a little while longer. What has sprouted out there has the returning admirers to the part waiting for the full show. The free admission makes it a huge plus. There were 4 dogs and their people/person walking them around. Plus we encountered may be 5 or 6 other people. Some wearing masks some not....

This Path is a paved, short, easy walk or roll to get here. It's lovely for a little stroll to relax my Dogs and Myself. It's All wheelchair Friendly, because it is paved and well kept. It's not too Hilly either if Your chair isn't powered. It's about a half mile trail, with Beautiful Views of the Valley. This is one of our favorite places to go on days that I'm not able to walk very well, or if it's in the middle of the day and we don't have too much time.
