Recreation Area (Avalon Park) — Attraction in Alafaya

The site has potential, but the facilities and equipment are lacking. There is a tiny playground, and it’s in rough shape. Some parts are missing or damaged, as shown in my photos. There are plenty of swings for older kids and toddlers, but for some reason, the little kid swings are 50 feet away from the big kid swings. It’s impossible to swing a little one while supervising a slightly older child. There is a small fenced dog park as well. All of the facilities are a long walk from parking. There is some sort of fitness trail along one side, with decaying exercise equipment.

The worst aspect of this park is that everything is in full sun. There are some nice trees, but too small to shade any equipment. All of the playground equipment is too hot to use for most of the day.

There is at least one nice shaded...

This recreation area is right in front of Castle Creek Elementary, the location is very convenient for us and the parking lot has plenty of spots. There is also a basketball court, dog park, playgrounds (with swings for both toddler and big kids/adults), and a tennis court.

There is a very big grass field which is perfect for playing soccer or flying kite. With that being said there are a lot of anthills throughout this place, so we had to scout out the area before letting our little ones run around freely. There are also benches around for anyone who needs to rest.

Overall this is a great place to spend a few hours of outdoor fun for anyone...

Very spacious field! One tennis court, two basketball courts, a dog park, and a baby park with lots of swings!!! Nice place to go on a walk or play some soccer on the field! Many people were out on the park when I went, it was a nice sense...
