So I am that guy that researches every minute detail and then asks 1000 questions because I want to be sure I am getting the best product. I have probably now spent several hours in this store asking questions about wood stoves and in particular the one I chose to buy and how to install it. I have also visited several other local locations. I will say had I not visited here first I would have been lost at every other place. I left feeling like I could dang near build one on my own. There was not a single detail about how it operated, how to install and pros v cons left unanswered. Of course I asked for the details and I think thats normal but never once did I feel rushed nor that my questions weren’t important.
The only critique I could offer would be that they communicate a little bit better. I hadn't heard from them for a while after paying a significant amount for a stove. Come to find out it had to actually be manufactured and shipped. That is certainly understandable as it’s stove season but I’d rather have been made aware of that than had to call several weeks into it to find out it would be a few more weeks. And would have liked even more to have been updated as to when I could have expected it to arrive.
In my experience I felt like the staff member I consulted with each time (same one) wasn't afraid to discuss common problems, errors and erroneous expectations that have created bad experiences for endusers and installers on an individual basis. Lots of examples that had simple solutions. I have had my stove and parts for about a week now and have read up on all the installation instructions. With the instructions provided and the input from the staff I really think its gonna take less than a few hours.
I will post another review after the install and...
Read moreWhat a huge headache. First they ordered the wrong parts, then sold me some song and dance about how they were the right parts, but I also needed a conversion kit. So I ordered that, it was just another bunch of parts, some right some not. So then ended up with a bunch of extra parts I couldn't use (all individually priced. Turns out there are no "kits" that's just something they made up to sell the extra parts), and they refused to take any of them back. In the end I ended up paying hundreds extra for parts I didn't need and still didn't have all the ones I did need. So I called Hearth and Home directly. They got me the right parts and told me Alaska Stove and Spa lied about a number of things, including the "kits" being sold together....
Read moreHonestly some of the best customer service I've ever had! These guys talked me out of a start up kit for my spa, if I would've gotten that kit I would've had to of gotten more chemicals in a matter of weeks they recommended that for a little bit more I could have all the chemicals to not only start the tub but keep it maintained for a long time too! they were also very knowledgeable very reasonably priced! they beat just about everyone in town. They had no problem talking to me about everything, and answered every question I had. Jeremy is awesome!! Such a great experience! I even forgot my instructions (custom tailored to your free water test) and they emailed them to me with no issues!...
