This was my first downhill ski adventure, so I can't compare to other resorts, but I was very pleased with my experience here. The lodge is simple to navigate and get set up (everything is in one room). Rental, lessons, and a lower mountain lift ticket was only $80 (highly worth it). My lesson was with an older gentleman who was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I happened to be his only student that day, and we progressed quickly through the 2-hour course and dramatically increased my ability and confidence on the slopes. By the end of the day, I was even able to ski down some of the easier blue-diamond sections, but your experience may be different depending on your past ski experience and skill-level. Either way, the mountain is beautiful, the snow was thick, and the staff was great. I'll definitely be back as...

This is where you go to sign up for Lessons (ski or biking depending on the season). Be aware that it can get a little hectic on the weekends, but in a nice way. A small resort with lots of families out for the weekend to ski with each other kind of way. Everyone is really friendly and just here to have a good time skiing.

Facilities: There are large bathrooms, two water fountains with bottle filling features, lockers for rent (they are $10 for the day with as many entries as you want), gear rentals, small gift shop with limited selection to replace those items you left at home, the mountain learning center school, two well priced restaurants (Pho and Coffee shop), and a few vending machines (which like to take money sometimes...

Had Absolutely the best day! Staff was knowledgeable, and laid back, and they helped make the overall atmosphere and experience.... wonderful! The Day Lodge is pretty big and has plenty of space for large families. The food from the boar head deli (upper tram bld) is good and the portions are decent size. The only complaint I have is the price of lockers (10$ per day) and lift tickets (75$, 1-close). I think that's a bit excessive for an Alaskan resident. Overall we had a great time!

On a personal note... one of the rental techs was so kind and let me borrow a vital piece of snow gear I had left at home. I can only hope he knows how extremely grateful and thankful I am to him for...

Four stars just because everything is fairly pricy. Food here is eh, lodge food and nothing too exciting. Lockers are nice to use for the day! You pay and get a combo to use it over and over so that’s great! I can’t say much for rentals as I use my own gear. They look well stocked to have what you need and a shop in house if you need to buy something. Emergency purchase only I would say regarding the store!! Because you will pay for it. The snowboarding or skiing is the best here! This makes everything worth it. The views and best runs around!

Alyeska Resort: Perfect Alaskan Getaway for Families with Kids We recently had a fantastic stay at the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, and it was perfect for our family with kids. The weather was incredible during our visit, and the resort offered tons of parking – a big plus when traveling with a lot of gear. Despite the ample parking, the resort itself never felt crowded, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our time there. The kid-friendly amenities and overall atmosphere were perfect for our family vacation.

It's okay. the tables were dirty and sticky, and it felt like they were constantly trying to fit more people inside than there should be, making it extremely noisy. The food isn't that great, and it takes longer than you'd expect to get your order. The photo was of me standing in line very early in the day, and they ran out of snow boards in my size even though I was pretty close to the front. My advice would be to reserve whatever gear you want well in advance and get there very early.
