Absolutely enchanting!

We visited the Deans in June, 2022 as a part of a longer organized tour, and I was a little skeptical. I didn't think of myself as one interested in either art or farms, but I am so grateful to have been looped into this visit. The Deans are amazingly creative, resourceful, and the results they achieve with their gardens, animals, buildings, and art are each deserving of a visit. We were incredibly lucky to spend a couple of hours with these gracious folks, and to marvel at the wonders of their creativity and the real beauty of their project. If you are in Homer, and want a change of pace, treat yourself to a visit to the Deans' place, and revel in the capacity for folks to create a life unlike any you are likely to...

What a phenomenal place! The grounds, the animals, the buildings, and the Dean Family artwork are absolutely all together stunning! Jeff and Ranja have done a magnificent job as artist-builders creating a fine rustic experience. We were able to view Jeff's sculpture work in progress "Seal Moon Rising"--what a treat it was to visit Jeff's studio and the family gallery! Our stay in the Wild Rose Yurt was as beautifully simple and sweet as a newly budded wild Alaska rose on an epic summer day. If you get the chance to stay here when it rains, you will be at rest with a sound of rain-drops lullabye upon the metal roof. You will be honored under the richness of Ranja's hand spun care....
