I’ve done 40+ escape rooms from the California Bay Area to Las Vegas to New York. My friends and I found ourselves with some free time in Anchorage and decided to try some different escape room locations while we were here and boy are we happy we came to Escape! The Tomb (as of now the only one available) was easily the best room we’ve done in Alaska and made it in the top 5 escape rooms Ive ever done.

This room is very high in production and tech value which I tend to enjoy which in my opinion trumps your classic key and combination lock escape rooms. The lighting effects made the room very dramatic and even the entrance leading into the room was themed which really transitioned us into the alternate reality. Its hard to balance production value with puzzles, usually other escape games rely to heavily on the production and the puzzles and props are lacking but these guys did it.

The Tomb had just the right amount of simple scavenging with most of your focus on the puzzles. The puzzles can be done in parallel which really kept my group of 4 entertained and busy the entire time. There is a good mix of interactive solutions, deciphering, and logic puzzles; the puzzles flowed linearly which avoided confusing sequences and backtracking which other games may do. The puzzles are the right amount of difficulty to keep the room fun if you have done escape rooms before, but if you’re on your 10+ room and looking for a head scratching challenge then you might find something to be missed.

If this is your first escape room, you will love this one but be disappointed with most other rooms you do after this (but you’ll likely catch the escape room bug). If you’ve done escape rooms in the past, let this one be the new standard for other escape rooms to meet.

Next time I find myself in Anchorage I’ll be sure...

How can I say this: OUTSTANDING!!!!! From the time we walked in we knew this was going to be a good experience. From the warm welcome to the clean decor, it started our adventure in the right direction. Now about the room. We have done over 200 rooms and this was one of the best. The briefing was clear about the story and your goal. The room design was top notch. The best part was the flow of the room. Everything not only made sense it also flowed from beginning to end. This room was built so unless you really got stuck the room runs itself. There were not guessing puzzles or large leaps of logic. The room was clear and directed you in the correct direction without having to ask for a zillion clues. Did I mention that we are also escape room owners? As an owner it was a true breath of fresh air to see owners create their own rooms and pull it off flawlessly. And yes this is their first room which surprised us 100%. We are looking forward to their new room opening up and we will definitely drive the 6 hours from Fairbanks to challenge their newest creation. Thank you again for building a Top 10 room and we can’t wait...

TLDR: Very fun Escape Room place and employees were very friendly and helpful! Definitely try it out!

This was my first time in an escape room along with my friends and although we failed (very unfortunately)it was an exciting experience. We could tell that we were all enjoying it since we were so engaged in the riddles and puzzles. We tried the Tomb one and that was a blast as well, although, it's sad that we can't attempt it again. Nonetheless, I'll keep this review short, the staff were super helpful and friendly, we only had to sign our names, and we were in the escape room very quickly. Awesome amd fun experience for friends/families/parties, you should definitely try it out, especially if it is your first time! And don't worry, you're not actually locked in like the movie haha. Reminder: Use the bathroom...

Amazing experience. Best crafted/constructed escape room I’ve ever done. Completely immersive experience and well taken care of. True to history/the fact of ancient Egypt with was pretty cool. EDITED after we did NOIR. Noir was fantastic! Similarly amazing construction and truly immersive. Great story-line that was threaded throughout the room. The locks/obstacles are unusual and better than the usual directional or other locks. But most importantly, they worked beautifully with my now-fiancé so that he could propose. I had NO idea until the very end that it was happening. ESCAPE Alaska played it perfectly and didn't let on at all. Thank you so much for giving us a memory that we'll cherish forever and giving me the best proposal story ever.

The place was closed for maintenance but you could apply for times online. The kicker was it wouldn’t let my friends do the online times and it tells you to call. Well if you do the call there’s a 5$ extra fee that you have to accept to just for the phone reservation. The best part is nobody picked up, nobody responded to the voicemail, and nobody was at the location. Very backwards way I’ve ever dealt with an escape room or reserving something ever. Also it was the last event my friend wanted to do before leaving Alaska permanently to that was a great memory to leave off of. ESCAPE! and go to a different place.

Honestly this was such a lovely experience. I did the noir room, and it was amazing. The color scheme was truly beautiful. I also appreciated how the staff were involved with their roles. They dressed in clothes that made sense to the time and theme of the rooms. The staff was kind and helpful. I appreciated the careful planning and themeing of the room. I also liked the waiting area. A calm and fun place to chill. 10/10 I would go back and do their other room.
