We came across the trail by chance near the little train station in Skagway and decided it was just what we were looking for. The first .9 mile hike to the lake was medium to difficult with a 500 foot elevation gain and lots of rocks to navigate. Once at the lakes we followed the trail all the way around heading south first. The trail on the west side of the lake was wide, clear, and mostly level. Very easy to walk, with beautiful views of the lake with mountains and greenery.
